Preparing for The Bartlett Summer Show 2013
Although we tossed this up on as a post on our Facebook wall today, we thought we should highlight it a bit more. The UCL puts on annual showcase of the students works, and the event has grown with each year. When most students are tossing their models out and clearing out their desks, the Bartlett School of Architecture is in full on design and construction phase. The projects are not simply hung on the wall, but each space is designed and tailored to each studio. The presentations themselves become an architectural exploration, beyond the projects. The students collaborate and design the installation locations. If only F+ was located in England we would be checking it out ourselves, but maybe you are and you should! Get inspired by seeing what other student designers are doing! Check it out after the jump!

Although normally an internet idea of showcasing an idea for funding, Joe Best’s Bangalore Kickstarter is about helping out recent graduates. Created as a space for recent grads, the building acts as 3 unique spaces, unified by the constant curving form of the building. Check it out.

Futures + Design – Your Student Architectural Journal!
Spring break is over for most, and instead of putting hours into studio it is days, as all you push your designs to the limits for final studio critiques. From first years to thesis grads we know what it takes, we have been asleep under our desk, in the same clothes for days, and had piles of coffee cups on our desk. That is why we started F+ so that when it is all said and done, you can showcase all that hard work to the world!

“PARAP^ODUCE” – Nikki Seeto
The cities of today are constantly looking at ways to space pack and densify the populations, however with these increases in populations generates a higher demand on food supplies. Now toss in a massive flood in 2030 in the city of Brisbane, Australia and you get “Parap^oduce” by Nikki Seeto. The design is set to create a network of pods connected between buildings that would essentially become elevated green houses. We constantly look towards building design as being polar objects adjacent to other buildings, where “Parap^oduce” introduces a secondary urban system working throughout the city. Check it out after the jump!
