The summer is starting to wind down, and student’s are heading back to classes pretty soon.  Here at Futures Plus, we’ve been going full steam all summer, so we’re gonna take it a little easy today.  Check out Second Nature, a unique documentary from Element skateboarding company, and team rider Janne Saario.

The film follows Janne Saario, as he designs a Steel Park skate park.  Although the construction of a skate park is nothing special in itself, its the back-story of this that we love.

Janne was a pro skater, and decided to become a landscape architect as well.  It’s these small details in someones background that we love, that give their work a certain feeling.  Janne’s experience as a skater can’t be removed from the way he looks at an environment, giving him a unique take on the built environment, and it shows in the skate park.  Check out this amazing documentary and really listen to what Janne has to say about life and design.
